This is a horror comedy made before CGI took over the movies, so we get to see lots of nice costumes and make-up and practical effects. It's about a group of students who are lured into a wax museum (a waxworks) where they get sucked into the exhibits then can't leave. The exhibits include a Wolfman, a house of Vampires, the Marquis deSade, and an Egyptian tomb with mummies, that also has a snake in it.
The mummy's tomb sequence doesn't involve any of the students. Instead, we see a police detective who is investigating their disappearance. He gets sucked into the exhibit where he finds an explorer and a woman. When they remove the lid to the mummy's tomb, a second mummy comes to life and fights them. The mummy picks up the woman and throws her into the opened tomb, into the waiting arms of the other mummy, who seems happy to see her. She is terrified, then to make matters worse, a large snake crawls over her body. Then the detective is thrown in with her, and the mummy puts the top on, sealing them inside.
The snake is a non-venomous Boa Constrictor, but I'm sure we're supposed to think it's extremely deadly. The mummy's tomb also includes a couple of cobra statuettes, which is a nice touch. You can't have a movie set in Egypt without some kind of cobra. That's the law.
