Herps In Australian Movies
These are movies made in Australia or taking place in Australia with scenes with some of the unique Australian reptiles and amphibians in them, taken from the various lists of Herps in Movies. There are not as many movies on this list as I thought there would be before I made it. Since there are herps in nearly every Australian movie I've seen, so maybe I need to watch more of them. Spoiler Alert ! Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching a film.
Crocodile Dundee (1986) Dundee finds a snake at their campsite and kills it while carrying on a conversation, as if it's something he does every day. His companion is disgusted and terrified.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) A motorcycle gang crushes a lizard eating flies on a skull.
The Last Wave 1977 Frogs appear to have fallen out of the sky during a heavy rainstorm in Australia.
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) A two-headed lizard makes a tasty post-apoctalyptic snack for Max.
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) Mad Max grabs a venomous snake that's guarding a gyro helicopter but the snake's owner makes him put it down. Later, the snake's owner flies above Max and throws the snake out of his helicopter to kill some men who are trying to kill Max.
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) An Australian Shingleback Skink is seen in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland.
Outback (2019) American tourists lost in the Australian outback encounter deadly snakes.
Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) Dragons and skinks are used for local color while some schoolgirls picnic.
Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) A young Australian girl finds a monitor lizard in a tree and captures it for dinner.
Rogue (2007) A boat full of tourists is destroyed by an enormous crocodile, stranding everyone on a tiny island that is slowly disappearing due to rising tidewaters, leaving them at the mercy of the hungry reptile.
Sirens (1993) A large Australian python keeps showing up in the movie. I don't know why.
