| This is a made-for-TV science-fiction buddy movie about a humanoid android that calls himself Ken (Julian Sands) who can change his appearance to match any animal or human. Ken is sent back in time to 1995 to stop the events that killed all humans on Earth, leaving only Androids on the planet. Without humans, the androids have no purpose, so they want to restore humanity. Ken has an encyclopedic knowledge of Earth's future, and an evil scientist knows that, so he is hunting Ken to steal his computer "brain" to gain his knowledge of the future for his own gain. Ken's main goal is to stop a rocket accident, because the ensuing political pressure halted all research into long-distance rockets which brings the end of the kind of space exploration which would have saved humanity after a comet crashes into it in about 600 years. |

| There is a brief comic scene with a snake. Ken changes his form into that of a male model who he sees on a billboard, then he finds an artificial intelligence scientist named Jonathan Driscoll (Giancarlo Esposito) whose research has been ignored, leaving him unemployed, but will eventually lead to the development of androids in a couple of hundred years. Jonathan convinces Ken to let him travel to Phoenix, Arizona with him where Ken is going to stop the rocket from exploding. They take a taxi to Velodyne Aerospace where the rocket was developed and where it will be launched. The cause of the rocket accident was never determined, so Ken needs to get into the facility to try to find out what caused the accident so it can be stopped. Jonathan tries to convince Ken it's a bad idea, but Ken runs off. Jonathan follows him, and when he sees a snake on the ground, he thinks that Ken has transformed into the snake so he can sneak into the facility. He previously saw how easily Ken can take the form of other humans and other animals. He picks up the snake and starts talking to it as if it's Ken, telling it they should come back in the morning so they don't have to resort to burglary. But when he hears Ken reply "Very well" and turns to see Ken standing next to him, he tosses the snake to the ground. | When the android later known as Ken arrives from the future to Oregon in 1995, he is in his android form but he needs to blend in so he changes his form to mirror the life forms he encounters, including a frog, and owl, and then a male model he sees on a billboard. At the start of the movie, we don't know who the android is or what he is capable of, so there is a scene that shows us his shape-shifting abilities. We see him walking through some woods and we hear a treefrog calling. Then we see a shot of a toad. Ken examines it with his computer senses, which show him that it's an amphibian. Then we see his blue robot head change into a green head that looks like a frog. We see the toad again as it hops away and then his head changes back to the blue robot head. Later, when he cuts open his arm to adjust some of his wiring, we see him briefly change back into the frog head. |
