We see a He-Witch with a brief appearance of a magic snake.
Amleth (Alexander Skarsgard) is the Viking prince out to avenge his father. After escaping his home village he becomes part of a band of men in another country who rape and pillage for a living. When he learns news of his father's murderer, he cuts his hair off and jumps onto a slave ship bound for a village in Iceland. Disguised as a slave, Amleth works during the day, but sneaks off at night to secretly murder off his captors. He also develops a relationship with a slave woman he met on the boat (Anya Taylor-Joy). He learns that to get his revenge he will need a magic sword that the Norns of Fate have chosen named Draugr that can only be used at night. He sneaks off to ask a He-witch where he can find the sword. The witch pulls out an old severed head and performs a spell that causes the skull to talk. Amleth has to visit Draugr's owner who is buried in a large underground tomb. The witch tells him to go on the full moon then picks up a snake wrapped around his hand which he then suddenly tosses at Amleth. Amleth is surprised as the snake falls to the ground at his feet. He's even more surprised when he sees that the snake has turned into a rope. He uses that rope later to lower himself into the underground tomb to steal the sword.
