Snakes in Movies   The Headless Ghost (1959)   Spoiler Alert ! Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.   This is a ghost story about three college students who hide in a haunted castle at night to prove the existence of ghosts so one of them can write a college newspaper article about it. They meet several ghosts who eventually trap them in the castle and force them to help one of the ghosts who lost his head get his head back and end a curse that keeps them all trapped in the castle. They need to find a pouch full of potions and then throw it at a portrait of the ghost while reciting an incantation. They search the dungeon until they find a room containing a large chest. When they open the chest they see the pouch they're looking for, but it is guarded by a large snake. One of the men grabs a halberd that is conveniently hanging from a wall and gives it to the other man who hacks the snake to death with it. At first we see a live Boa Constrictor in the chest and crawling out of it, but the snake that is attacked with the axe is a fake prop snake.
