The Exterminators of the Year 3000 (1983)

Spoiler Alert !

Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.

This is an Italian Mad Max ripoff made in Spain. It's set in a post nuclear-holocaust world where it never rains and water is scarce and the world is a desert full of snakes and motorized gangs.

At the very beginning of the movie we see two policemen find an abandoned car and trailer. One of them investigates, pretending that he's talking to the occupants, asking for license and registration, except he knows they're very old corpses. We see a python crawling out of one of the corpses. then a man called Alien (Robert Iannucci), driving a stolen car called The Exterminator, runs them off the road to steal their water, but one of them comes back and steals his car so he give chase in the police car which he wrecks and becomes trapped inside.

A ten-year-old boy named Tommy (Luca Vanantini) finds Alien and helps free him. Then they are taken by a gang led by a man named Crazy Bull who has his henchmen tie each of Tommy's arms to a different motorcycle, then start them up until one of his arms is torn off. Alien rescues him and the arm then discovers that it's a bionic arm. They go find an old man ex-astronaut who has been to Mars and Venus, because he knows how to fix things. He fixes Tommy's arm, making it much stronger. So strong that later we see Tommy throw a rock into a man's forehead that kills him dead.

While the ex-astronaut is working on Tommy's arm, A woman shows up out of nowhere with a gun and forces Alien to walk at gunpoint. He stops, saying there's a snake in front of him. She doesn't believe him. He shows it to her and she shoots it with her crossbow pistol. Alien uses the opportunity to knock her to the ground. He pulls off her head covering to discover she's his ex-girlfriend "Trash" (Alicia Moro) who he abandoned in the middle of the desert so she's understandably angry at him. They kiss, but she uses the opportunity to kick him where it hurts. He says he should have let the snake bite her but she says a snake bite is better than a kiss from him.

That evening we see the old man ex-astronaut cooking up the snake in a stew, which he says is the best in the forbidden lands.

The snake in the corpse is a Burmese Python and so is the second snake. Maybe they saved money by using the same snake for both scenes. If so, they never used it for another scene, because it looks like the second snake did actually get a metal dart punched through its head.
