This South African comedy was a surprise hit when it was released in 1980. At the beginning of the movie a voiceover announcer is telling us how the Kalahari bushmen hunt and gather food. We hear him say "In this world of theirs, nothing is bad or evil. Even a poisonous snake is not bad - you just have to keep away from the sharp end. Actually a snake is very good, in fact it's delicious. And the skin makes a fine pouch." As he sais that we see a cobra on the ground raised and hooded. A bushman runs up to it, grabs its tail and beats it to death on the ground. Then he drapes the dead snake over his arm and carries it off. Next we see a man rubbing a snake skin back and forth over a stick preparing it to make a pouch.
Later in the movie, two unarmed men are hiding from a third man with a gun. One man notices that there is a snake on a branch over the man with the gun, so he picks up a rock and throws it at the snake. He hits the snake, which drops onto the head of the man with the gun, terrifying him so much he drops the gun. By the time he has thrown the snake off him the other men have run up and grabbed the gun and they take him prisoner.
