Snakes in Movies   The Dude Ranger (1934)   Spoiler Alert ! Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.   In this western made from a Zane Grey story, an Eastern dude inherits a cattle ranch and finds that its cattle are being stolen. He signs on in secret as a ranch hand to figure out who's stealing them. One night, a man drops a rattlesnake out of a bag onto his bed. His bunkmate whacks it to death with his boot, then throws it out the window. It isn't long before they both figure out that somebody put the snake there to kill him.
