This is an Australian movie about two city kids who get stranded in the Australian Outback. They learn how to survive with the help of an Aboriginal boy who is on his "walkabout" where he is separated from his tribe and learning how to be a man.
You can't beat Australian movies for interesting lizards, and this one is a gold mine.
We see lots of native Australian animals during the childrens' journey, including several lizards. We see some Shingle-Backs, a Thorny Devil, a Frilled-neck Lizard, and several goannas or monitor lizards. The goannas are caught and cooked for food by the Aborigine boy who they encounter after he chases and kills a goanna. He has several other dead lizards hanging from his belt to be eaten later. As the movie progresses we see many scenes of him hunting and killing birds, kangaroos, and other lizards, and cooking them on a fire.
The lizards we see are all real, including the dead ones and probably the lizards that are cooked and eaten, too. |
