This is the origin story of Furiosa, a one-armed truck driver who was introduced in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). When Furiosa was a young girl she was abducted by Dementus, the leader of a motorcycle gang.
In a brief scene with a lizard, we see Dementus and his gang riding towards a place called The Citadel. As they are riding across a desert plain we see a human skull on the sandy ground. A fly lands on the skull and a small lizard emerges from one of the eye sockets and crawls up to the top of the skull then quickly strikes and eats the fly. Then the lizard stands up tall, probably getting ready to find and eat another fly, but before it can do that Dementus' motorcycles run over and crush the skull and keep on going.
It's not likely the lizard survived to eat another fly. It looks like one of the small lizards, or dragons, that are found in the Australian deserts, but it's CGI, and the skull probably is, too.
It can be a dangerous world for lizards in movies. We also see tough guys on motorcycles driving by and killing a lizard in Raising Arizona (1987) when Leonard Smalls shoots a lizard from his motorcycle, and in Ghost Rider (2007) when Johnny Blaze's flaming motorcycle incinerates a lizard. |
