Alligators and Crocodiles in Movies   Crocodile Dundee II (1988)   Spoiler Alert ! Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.   This action-comedy is a sequel to Crocodile Dundee (1986) that takes place 6 months later. It's hard to make a movie about murdering drug dealers funny, but it tries. The first movie took place in Australia then New York City. This one reverses the locations beginning with Australian country bumpkin Mick Dundee (Paul Hogan) living in Manhattan wearing a snakeskin jacket and a giant tooth-covered hat that makes Japanese tourists mistake him for Clint Eastwood. There are two snake scenes, one in New York and one in the Australian outback. There is also a scene with a large lizard, and two scenes with fake crocodile attacks. For a movie called "Crocodile" Dundee it's disappointing that we don't see any real ones other than a brief library shot of a croc sliding into the water. Still in New York, Dundee and Sue are kidnapped by a Colombian drug lord's thugs. Dundee rescues her and takes her to Australia where he thinks the Colombians can't find them. But the Colombians fly to Australia where they team up with some Aussie bad guys to hunt Mick and Sue. They are unarmed so when the bad guys come Dundee devises several schemes using the native wildlife to spook them and then pick off the gangsters one by one. First we see Dundee fake a crocodile attack by dragging one of the bad guys into a lake, then breaking his hat and letting it float in the water. Dundee's friend Walter, who has been captured by the bad guys who are forcing him to help them find Dundee, tells them it was a crocodile attack. This has them all spooked. Later only two bad guys are left. They need to cross a river so them make Walter cross the river first. They don't know that Dundee has secretly told Walter to cross at this spot. Walter walks into the water where he is pulled under. The gangsters see the tail of a crocodile and shoot at it. After the first fake attack, they are not surprised to see a crocodile take Walter and decide to go a different way. After the gangsters leave, Dundee releases Walter and we see that he is wearing a costume made from a dead crocodile. He was nicked by one of the bullets and Walter tells him not to get the blood in water because there might be real ones. Dundee says "Where do you think I got this fella?"
