California Frogs and Toads - World Range Maps
| These maps are an approximate illustration of the worldwide distribution of established native and non-native species of frogs that inhabit California. They are designed to give a general idea of where each frog might be found. Frogs are expected to be found within the colored area in places where suitable habitat and conditions occur. In some cases, the current range may be fragmented or considerably diminished from the range illustrated here, and some of these frogs have been extirpated from the state, so their maps show their historic range. This page has more detailed maps of the distribution of frogs in California only. Click on the name link for pictures and information about frogs that are found in California. On the top left side of those pages you can find links to more pictures of the frogs from other areas besides California, if available.
