Monitor Lizards and Tegus In Movies |
This is an alphabetical list of movies with Monitor Lizards and Tegus in them taken from the main Lizards in Movies List.
Monitor lizards are lizards in the genus Veranus, which includes the Komodo Dragon, the largest species of lizard. They're native to Africa, Asia, and Oceania, including Australia, where they are called "Goannas" and are a food source for indigenous people. Tegus are lizards from Central and South America that resemble monitor lizards but are not related. They are thought to be an example of convergent evolution because they have physical and behavioral similarities to monitor lizards but they have no evoutionary relationship to them. (Most of the Tegus seen on screen appear to be the Argentine Black and White Tegu, Salvator merianae.)
