This is another of the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies. The previous one implied that Jane and Tarzan were going to have sex. But sex and childbirth outside of marriage were taboo during the censorship years in Hollywood, so they found a creative way for them to raise a baby. At the beginning of the movie, Cheetah finds a baby in a basket who survived a plane crash in the jungle and brings it to Tarzan. He and Jane name it Boy. Five years later we see Boy living with Tarzan and Jane in the jungle.

In the turtle scene, Tarzan and Boy are swimming in a jungle lake when they see a sea turtle. They swim after it and Tarzan grabs one of the turtle's back feet. Boy grabs Tarzan's feet and they let the turtle pull them along. They're not trying to catch the turtle, they're just having some fun.

Sea turtles live in the sea and not in freshwater lakes in the jungle, so this must have been filmed in saltwater. Much of this movie was filmed in Florida, so it was probably shot in one of the clear springs where people watch manatees swim - or women dressed as mermaids holding air hoses.
