This is one of the many great Buster Keaton silent comedies. Buster Keaton suddenly discovers that he will inherit seven million dollars if he can get married before his 27th birthday - leaving him only a few hours to find a wife. He asks several women to marry him, but they all turn him down. So his friends put an ad in the afternoon paper saying that any woman who shows up that afternoon at a church in wedding costume can marry him. When he gets to the church, there are hundreds of women waiting for him. They mob him and he runs away with all of them chasing him through the city and out into a marsh.

He keeps running and dives into a canal, swims across, and continues running, only to find a turtle stuck to the front of his clothing. He stops and bends over to pull it off just as some duck hunters in a boat fire a gun nearby. He falls on his butt, scared but unharmed.

The turtle is a prop, but it looks real enough.
