| In a future Miami that is mostly underwater due to the rising sea level, Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman) uses advanced technology to temporarily recover his client's lost memories so they can feel like they are experiencing the past again. After he has an affair with one of his clients, she disappears and he becomes obsessed with finding her. Following a lead, he goes to the home of Tamara Sylvan (Marina de Tavira) the widow of Walter Sylvan, a recently-deceased wealthy land baron. She is trying to pretend she is young and her husband is not dead by hiring young men to be him. Nick pretends to be one of the actors, then confronts Tamara to get information. When she refuses to believe she's not her younger self, he pulls the cover off of a full-length trifold mirror that was hidden so Tamara can't see that she's much older now than she's pretending to be. He forces her to look at herself in the mirrors and she realizes how old she really is and gives him some information. When her son comes to see her, he recognizes Nick and calls for their security guards to throw him out. The mirror scene starts at about 1:11 |
