| Edmund Bancroft is a successful author and amateur crime expert who causes a series of brutal murders with unusual weapons so he can write about them. Bancroft injects his assistant Rick with a Jeckyll-and-Hyde-like serum that turns him into a powerful monster who will do whatever he's ordered. Bancroft orders Rick to kill women because sex and blood sells books. One woman is killed with a pair of binoculars that shoots large needles into her eyes, another is decapitated by a guillotine held above the headboard when she gets into bed. When Rick's fiancé learns too much about Bancrsoft's secrets, he orders Rick to kill her at a Fun Fair. Always the romantic, Rick takes her into the Tunnel of Love where he turns into the monster and stabs her in the heart at the exit. Witnesses call the police, so Rick runs into a Hall of Mirrors to hide. (This hall is made up mostly of mirrors that distort reflections but don't increase the number of reflections very much.) People inside the hall enjoy seeing their distorted images, but they scream when they see Rick's hideous face and the bloody weapon he is still holding, so he runs back outside to be chased by the police.
