Bruce (James McAvoy) is a mentally-ill drug-and sex-addicted Scottish police detective who sleeps with his colleagues' wives. His own wife Carole (Shauna Macdonald) left him, but he fantasizes that she will come back if he gets a promotion. We see Carole three different times talking to us about his pending promotion wearing black underwear in front of mirrors with an infinite mirror effect. Then near the end of the film we see Bruce wearing the same underwear standing in front of the same mirrors and we learn that he has been dressing up like Carole. |
