This is a low-budget horror / science-fiction movie about an anthropologist who tranquilizes and captures a Troglodyte, a half human/half ape cave dweller. She brings him back to her lab for study, but people fear that he is a monster.

We see a scene with the anthropologist Dr. Brockton (Joan Crawford in her last feature film) and her daughter Anne (Kim Braden) as they feed Trog. We see a bucket full of fish and what appear to be rubber lizards. Dr. Brockton says Trog is not a carnivore, yet they feed him dead animals, which is the definition of a carnivore. They throw a lizard to Trog and he picks it up and eats it.

Anne: "What's on the menu for Trog"
Dr. Brockton: "It's right here. Fish and lizards.
Anne: "Raw?"
Dr. Brockton" "You don't think they had stoves a million years ago, do you?"
Man: "Is that the ideal diet for Trog?"
Dr. Brockton: "For the present, yes. Trog is not a carnivore. Fish and lizards will supply the proteins he needs until we can safely expand the range of his feedings."
"Trog! Here Trog! Good boy!"
Anne: "Not so fast, you'll get a tummy ache!"
Dr. Brockton: "Go ahead, Ann, feed him some fish, now."
