Lizards in Movies   The Tree of Life  (2011)   Spoiler Alert ! Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.   This film by the great director Terrence Malick was nominated for Best Picture. It's about a family in Waco Texas in 1956. It follows the eldest son, Jack, from childhood into adulthood. When Jack is a boy, we see him and his brother come into the house holding a Texas Alligator Lizard. They chase their mother around the house with it until she is trapped in the bathtub. She convinces the boy to drop the lizard. He puts it in the bathtub and they all run out of the house, mocking their authoritarian father. The lizard is a real Texas Alligator Lizard.
