This typically over-the-top Michael Bay buddy cop action comedy has a couple of scenes that use Green Iguanas in unusual ways.

In the first iguana scene, a bunch of American policemen and ex-soldiers have smuggled themselves into Cuba to rescue Syd, a kidnapped DEA agent who is held captive in a large compound by a Miami-based Cuban drug dealer. One part of their plan to get inside the compound is to throw cats and Green Iguanas over the compound's wall in order to set off the motion detectors in the compound to annoy the compound's security team into turning them off. We see a man holding two iguanas next to the wall, then as two men carry cats and throw them over the wall, he throws over an iguana. Then we see a close-up of an iguana walk by a motion sensor and we hear the alarm go off. As expected, the alarms are turned off. The drug dealer's daughter finds two of the cats and wants to keep them.

In the second iguana scene, Miami police detectives Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Lowrey (Will Smith) and Burnett's sister and DEA agent Syd (Gabrielle Union), fled the compound in a stolen Hummer, drove to Guantanamo Bay, and crashed through the fence. As they stand in a sandy area, held at gunpoint by the drug dealers and by the U.S. military, we see a Green Iguana walking on the sand. It steps on the trigger to a mine, then explodes, just as a soldier announces with a bullhorn that they shouldn't move because they are in an active mine field. (As you would expect, a few bad guys then get blown to bits, too.)
