This is a Best Animated Feature Oscar-nominated French movie about a young Parisian girl's cat who leads a secret life as an accomplice to a cat burglar. Zoe is the girl, her mother Jeanne is a police officer, Dino is the cat.
We see Dino catch and kill a lizard on a roof. He climbs in Zoe's bedroom window and brings it to her. Zoe puts it in a sardine can with several other dead lizards that I presume were also caught by Dino. (This is why it's best for the environment, and the cats, to keep them inside.) Jeanne comes to talk to Zoe and sits on her bed. Zoe pulls out a lizard which scares her mother, and the entire can of lizards flies into the air.
I have no idea what kind of lizards are supposed to be living on a Parisian rooftop, but my guess is that there are no such lizards. And what's the deal with the can full of dead lizards? Are we supposed to think that because this is a cartoon lizards do not become infested with maggots and decompose like other living things? That sardine can would smell worse than it did when it was full of sardines! |
