This French adventure/spy parody, shot mostly in Brazil, received an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay. Adrien (Jean-Paul Belmondo) is a French soldier in Paris on a week's leave, hoping to spend time with his girlfriend Agnes (Francoise Dorleac.) But Agnes is kidnapped and brought to Brazil. He follows her there and rescues her, but she is kidnapped again and taken away in a sea plane that lands on a river. Adrien steals a plane to follow them but he can't land on the water so he jumps out of the plane and parachutes into some trees at the edge of a river. His parachute gets stuck in branches right on top of a large crocodile. As he hangs over the crocodile, a man in a boat shoots it with a rifle. After we see the explosion of the bullet on the crocodile, we see it continue to swim past Adrien.

We see a shot of a live crocodile or caiman, but the crocodile we see in the water under Adrien is not real. It's a prop, but it's realistic enough for a comic scene.
