Alligators and Crocodiles in Movies   Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995)   Spoiler Alert ! Some of these pictures and descriptions may give away plot details that you might not want to know before watching the film.   This is a jungle adventure comedy with Jim Carrey playing a wacky pet detective named Ace Ventura who travels to Africa to find a missing rare white bat to avert a war between two tribes. When Ventura finds the bat in the hut of two men who are using its droppings to make poison darts, they find him and tie him and and his monkey to a raft, which floats on a river over a large waterfall. The fall frees Ventura from the raft and he shouts "I'm alive!" then immediately a crocodile rises out of the water and stares in his face. In a very funny scene, Ventura fights the crocodile, riding it like a rodeo cowboy, elbowing it like a professional wrestler, slapping and splashing water on it like a little kid, pulling it by its tail, and holding it underwater. We never see the exact outcome of the fight, but we do see Ventura alive and well afterward, and the crocodile probably is also.
