Even though it stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and it's based on a Hunter Thompson novel, this film didn't thrill me. It's about an alcoholic journalist working in Puerto Rico during the 1960s.

In the toad scene, a hermaphrodite witchdoctor coughs out a juvenile toad while casting spells. The toad makes the sound of a Coqui frog, which we hear throughout the movie, but we see a toad, not a Coqui frog. (Movie sound designers always seem to get frog calls wrong.) The movie was filmed in Puerto Rico, which explains the Coqui frog calls we hear in the background.
