This is an action movie that includes a long scene with some good crocodilian action. Turn your brain off before watching it or you'll get a headache. It stars former Miss America Vanessa Williams and former Mr. Universe Arnold Schwarzenegger. They are up against a gang of rogue law enforcement agents who are involved in selling terrorists a new top-secret rail gun rifle that never runs out of ammo and somehow has a scope with x-ray vision. I told you it was brainless...

Vanessa Williams is Lee, an informant in the Witness Protection program, who is sent to the New York Zoo. When she gets there she is chased into the reptile house by men who don't want her to testify. Arnold is a Witness Protection agent "The Eraser" who erases informants' identities. His job is to protect Lee, but he is kidnapped by the bad guys. He jumps out of their airplane without a parachute, then catches a parachute that fell out of the plane, then he has to shoot the plane that is trying to knock him out of the sky. His parachute gets tangled up and he crash lands at an auto wreckers. He steals a tow truck, drives to the zoo, and crashes it through the front gates then runs into the reptile house in the middle of a gunfight to rescue Lee.

Lee is out of bullets and Arnie has only two left. He waits until the bad guys move in front of the crocodile tank, then he uses one of his bullets to shoot the glass which shatters causing a torrent of water and gigantic aquatic reptiles to pour into the room. The bad guys are knocked down by the water and the crocs start biting their heads off, while Arnie and Lee run away.

But one of the crocs chases after Arnold. Bad idea. Arnie fights it off with some furniture then shoots it in the mouth, killing it with his last bullet, saying "You're luggage." Then even more bad guys come and Arnie and Lee jump out a window and somehow get away from the remaining men and a thousand police cars. Very brainless...
The crocodilians are mostly fake, but they're realistic enough to get the job done. Are they supposed to be alligators or crocodiles or a hybrid of both? Who cares - they bite the heads off bad guys. That's all that matters. The zoo scene was filmed at an abandoned zoo in Los Angeles which makes me wonder if all of the cool reptile decorations in the zoo that we see were part of the original zoo or if they were made by the set designers.
Watch the croc scene on YouTube before they take it down. |
