Tales of Terror Tales of Terror

Schlockmaster Roger Corman directed this collection of 3 short movies based on Edgar Allan Poe stories, all starring Vincent Price.

In the second story "The Black Cat" a nasty drunk (Peter Lorre) has several drunken hallucinations. He sees two people he just killed and he also sees a number of creatures on his cellar stairs including a very rare cinematic appearance of a live Amphiuma, a genus of aquatic salamanders from the southeast United States. You can even see the amphibian's tiny rear legs as it moves around. Unfortunately the aquatic Amphiuma is probably not enjoying being outside water.
